Pharaoh in Phlux

Each Halloween I make my own costume. Every year I look forward to the next and have enough costume ideas for at least 5 Halloweens out. A little overzealous I know but that's that. This year I wanted to be a decrepit Pharaoh/mummy, it was one thing in my head and another to actually create with what little time and energy I had. Instead it came out looking like something King Tut would of worn to a disco. The headdress was a small challenge but once formed, I enjoyed embellishing it. I'm taken by Egyptian art and dress, here is my homage to the gods. I've included the jewelry pieces I made out of smashed pennies collected from the Rosicrucian Museum.

Art of Tube, Corisc in Berlin designs recycled rubber into fashion

When I went to Berlin in the winter of 2009, I stayed in a shabby little hostel in Friedrichshrain, I did alot of walking around the neighborhood and came upon this minimal tailor/boutique shop called Corisc. The mannequin in the window adorned in rubber got my attention. They sell a variety of  rubber adornments including hats, body, wrist and neck ware. It was closed most of the time, but I managed to catch them open and bought the great rubber tie you see below and included a pic of the piggy nun and vixen as well. The woman was very nice and explained to me that her husband worked in tires and they constructed these amazing fashions out of recycled tires, I was amazed and took an instant liking to her, they were off to see Marc Almond in concert that night, it couldn't have gotten better! Now that I have this blahg, I wanted to feature them.

The Tenderloin Foot Stomper

Be on the look out for this women aged 25-31. Black hair and dark circles under eyes, 5"2 and on the prowl. Been caught wearing these slutty wedges, strutting around San Francisco's seedy Tenderloin District causing havoc and harassing non local tenders. This is her hood and she know's if you don't belong.
